The Somerville Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the history of southern Burleson County. The Society offers assistance with family or community research for Somerville, Lyons, and other nearby communities. Meetings take place on the second Monday of each month, from September to May, at 11:30 a.m., which includes a potluck luncheon. These gatherings are held in the Heritage Room of the Somerville Area Museum, located at the intersection of Highway 36 and 8th Street. The Somerville Area Museum welcomes visitors by appointment, with no admission fee, though donations are appreciated. Membership in the Somerville Historical Society is $10/person per year, which helps fund its operations as a non-profit organization. Any donations, whether made during your visit or sent in, contribute to the museum's operation, preservation, and enhancement.

Mission Statement
